Building a sustainable future, one charge at a time

The lowdown

Saint-Gobain, a leading manufacturer and distributor of construction products, set an ambitious goal to transition its entire company car fleet to electric vehicles by the end of 2023. But a smooth shift to electric requires a reliable charging network – enter evec.

Our solution for EV charging?

We worked with Saint-Gobain to develop a tailored charging solution that included a 7.4kW EV charging socket for employees to charge their company cars, and atwin 22kW pedestal chargerinstalled 8 meters from the building for workplace charging. We offered employees a choice of our untetheredVEC01charger or our tetheredVEC03, for home use. And for those thinking ahead, thePowerPairdual domestic charger ensured they were ready for a future with multiple EVs.

The execution

Our partnership with Saint-Gobain wasn't just about employee needs. The charging network catered to both staff and Saint-Gobain's wider business:

Staff charging:

Employees could choose between a tethered or untethered charger that best matched their lifestyle, with the option to upgrade to our dual charger, thePowerPair, for added flexibility in the future.

Commercial charging:

To date, we have facilitated the installation of 120 charging points across various Saint-Gobain brand locations, including British Gypsum, Gibbs & Dandy, Minster, and all Saint-Gobain offices.

Driving electric vehicles forward (literally)

This widespread network benefits everyone. Not just Saint-Gobain employees, but also visitors across their various brands, will have access to convenient charging. This initiative is projected to eliminate 11,000 tonnes of CO2 from Saint-Gobain's activities within the next five years. That's a significant step towards a greener future.
