How ASI Newark charges up sustainability with EV charging stations
Electric vehicle sales are ever-increasing, but as more people make the switch, the need for reliable charging stations continues to grow.
In Newark, the Air and Space Institute (ASI), renowned for inspiring future aerospace leaders, is taking grounded steps to support our planet. Eager to promote sustainable transportation, they worked with EV mobility to install charging stations from evec in their car park.
The need for accessible EV charging
Making the switch to an EV shouldn't be a hassle. ASI wanted charging to be convenient for everyone – staff, students, and even visitors. With a car park on-site, they needed convenient and accessible electric car charging stations that were user-friendly and accessible to all.
Why evec pedestals were the perfect choice
EV mobility knew that our free-standing pedestal chargers are perfect for open spaces like car parks. They can be easily mounted onto concrete slabs, so ASI didn't have to worry about a complicated setup. But functionality is just part of the story – ASI wanted their charging points to look sleek and modern too. Our pedestals come in a sleek design that complements any site, and the built-in light acts as a safety component to make sure they are visible, even at night.
Charging up the community
The new EV charging points aren't just for ASI staff and visitors during the week. On weekends, the car park opens up to the public, so anyone with an electric car can park up and top up their battery.
