Why choose evec for EV charging? Lee Burgess explains

In the rapidly growing industry of electric vehicles, finding the right charging solution at the right price is important. But with so many options on the market, it can be tough to know where to start. That's where we come in.

Today, we're chatting with Lee Burgess, our newly appointed consultant with extensive experience in the EV charging industry. Lee's got a finger on the pulse of all things EV charging, and he's here to share his insights with you.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background, and how you got into working as a consultant for EV charging infrastructure?

A: Absolutely! I've been in the electrical industry since I was 17, starting as an apprentice. I spent years working with wholesalers and consultant in the EV wholesale industry, and for the past 7 years, I've been a self-employed sales agent, focusing on EV charging. I’ve loved building relationships and becoming a trusted advisor in the EV charging chain. My passion is making sure people get the right product for their needs.

Q: What excites you most about working with evec?

A: Honestly, the people. From my conversations with Tom Bloor, I really love the company culture and how evec operates. The service evec offers is outstanding, and I believe in the way things are done here. It's also exciting to be part of a growing company, helping build it up.

Q: Why should customers choose evec for their EV charging needs?

A: Our prices are competitive, and our customer service is exceptional. evec have a dedicated team that actually answers the phone and can help with any questions or issues. Plus, with evec’s 48-hour engineer call-out, they ensure any problems get addressed quickly. There's already a good buzz about evec in the industry, and I believe that's well-deserved.

Q: What are the biggest challenges hindering wider EV adoption?

A: I haven't had any problems charging my own KIA EV 6. There are myths about long queues at public chargers, but that hasn't been my experience. The real challenge is the lack of public chargers across the UK, coupled with a need for better public education about EVs. People need to see first-hand how convenient and practical EVs can be.

Q: What are some of the biggest trends you're seeing in the EV charging industry?

A: Workplace charging and home charging for new builds are both on the rise. Benefit-in-kind tax breaks are making EVs attractive company cars, but employees need charging options at work. This creates a huge demand for workplace charging solutions. Similarly, with new build homes, there's now a requirement for integrated EV chargers. This opens up exciting opportunities for collaboration with developers and electrical wholesalers.

Q: Looking ahead, what's your vision for the future of EV charging infrastructure in the UK?

A: I see a future where EV chargers are everywhere. Every car will likely be electric or hybrid, and the infrastructure needs to keep pace. We'll see chargers in homes, workplaces, public spaces – it's going to be a complete transformation. That's why it's such an exciting time to be involved in this industry!
